Marilyn Monroe is a classic bombshell. Everyone knows what she looks like, right? Yet there is no single reference point for her appearance.
This project reveals how a striking 3D likeness can be created from a variety of 2D photographs.
Our lead character artist Marlon Nuñez studied Marilyn at different ages throughout the years, using old photos, some of which were only black and white. Then he modelled, sculpted, and groomed a digital version, right down to the lines of her makeup, the pores of her skin, the wetness in her eyes, and — of course — her beauty mark.
Now a photorealistic CG character of Marilyn Monroe exists, ready to return to Hollywood and reappear on the big screen.
